Weber Nursery and Preparatory School

Take a look at how our school has grown

Our school began as nothing more than part-time salaries to underpaid teachers to provide after-school and weekend classes to children too poor to attend public school. We then built a private school that provides free education to those who otherwise would not have had the opportunity to go to school. The school now serves around 200 children from Nursery (preschool) to grade 6.

Our school holds just shy of 200 hundred students in nine classes. We have three nursery (preschool) and six primary (elementary) classes. The school serves those in the greatest of need. We must unfortunately turn away hundreds every year. The operating costs of the school in its entirety (nine teachers, secretary, security, supplies, trips/activities) is around $13,000/year.

Our elementary school gives education to those without such an opportunity, but it does not keep a child in school through high school graduation. Upon graduating from our elementary school, our students land in our Junior Scholarship program, their continued education in the public schools paid for by us. Though this is enough to keep many in school, the temptation to drop out early in exchange for work is too much for many whose families often cannot put a day’s meal on the table.
